Ashleigh’s Mural
I commissioned Rachel to come up with a mural for my 4 year old son's new bedroom. I knew the general feel and style I wanted but (being no artist) was limited in my description to words, and pictures I found that touched on what I was aiming for - the works of John Patience's Fern Hollow was my main inspiration. Working with Rachel was fantastic - she listened closely to my brief, and really engaged with my vision of how I wanted the mural to look - what impact and texture it would have. Rachel was intelligent and intuitive throughout that first design process and managed to get down on paper my imaginings. What I found particularly impressive was her attention to detail: e.g. were there particular riverside plants where we lived that I wanted to include on our mural riverside? Would I like the planets to stretch away in the correct scientific order from the sun sinking behind the hills in the village part of the murall?
When Rachel came to draw the mural it was tremendously exciting seeing it develop day by day. It took 2 weeks and each day my 4 year old would rush home after school to see what new detail had emerged.
Rachel is a talented artist, her focus and imaginative approach made the process exciting and stress free. I feel lucky to have found her and our mural is STUNNING. Thank you Rachel!

I have always admired Rachel’s art since seeing her work at a Malvern Arts and Craft Market. I am very bubbly happy person so love bright colours. I had a few prints for a Christmas present (that I chose myself) one year and another for a surprise birthday present too. When I had saved a little money I decided I wanted to get a picture made and wouldn’t have looked any further than going to Rachel for a consultation. It was great to have a chat with her during a consultation on what I was expecting from my painting. I sent her lots of photos of things I wanted to include which is always great for making sure you are both thinking the same for something. I loved that Rachel then did 3 drawings for me to choose from that she sent via email as at this point we were going into lockdown. I chose one and asked for a few tweaks which she was more than happy to do for the actual painting. Rachel kept me informed well on the progress and when she brought it to me and I saw it for the first time, I was amazed with how fantastic it was and how she had brought my childhood memories to life. My art piece is very personal to me and my family so I asked for it not to be shown for promotional purposes which she agreed to which I also thought was amazing of her. I would definitely have another piece by Rachel in the future. She is extremely talented x

We have three of Rachel’s fabulous paintings - and we love them. They are colourful, whimsical, quirky and full of fun. Every day they bring a smile to our face. One of these was a commissioned piece. We asked Rachel to include her happy little characters - like a bumblebee and fox. And we wanted in the scene her out-of-this-world flowers and shrubs and one of her cosy little houses. We gave her a rough idea of what we had in mind. She did some sketches and we chose the one we liked best. We knew it was going to be wonderful but when we got the final product we were delighted beyond words. Rachel’s unique and distinctive work is truly, truly special.

Rachel's work evokes a childlike wonder in myself. This is one of the main reasons I chose Rachel for my commission. I have a deep love of dragons and fantasy. I wanted something that would remind me of where I live (the Malvern's) and my love of dragons. I didn't want a fierce dragon I wanted something softer, almost dream like. Rachel picked up on that and portrayed it in my commission beautifully. The journey I took with Rachel whilst completing my commission was both nourishing and peaceful. She listens to what you really want and after seeing previous works I was 100 per cent confident she could deliver and she did, I was ecstatic when I saw my painting. I have since gone on to own several of Rachel's works, both originals and prints. I simply love her take on the world and how she transcends that beauty into her whimsical art.

I spent some time searching online for an Artist whose style was what I was looking for. I met with Rachel who had loads of ideas and she drafted an incredible scene.
The daily progress of the mural was amazing and the finished wall is stunning. The details and beautiful colours make the room into a stunning calming space. Thank you Rachel, you have an amazing talent.”
