Let’s work together to create a unique hand-painted wall mural design for your home, workplace, school or even swimming pool! Each mural I create is completely unique and involves a detailed design process so that I can meet your exact requirements. Give me a call or pop me an email and we can discuss the possibilities.
Consultation - We begin by discussing ideas for your paintings, colours, theme and the general feel you would like the painting or mural to give the space. This can be via telephone, email, video call or on-site. I carefully listen and ask questions and offer creative suggestions until I have a really good image of what you are looking for in my mind’s eye.
Quote - Once I have a good idea of the artwork you would like me to create for you I will then put together a quote. To get the ball rolling on the project I’ll then take a deposit and start making design sketches for you.
Design & completion - I usually create 3 sketches in black and white to begin with. Which we can then discuss what you feel captures what you are looking for and can then make any tweaks and changes. Once you’re happy with the black and white sketch I’ll then make the finished painting. For murals I’ll then create colour visualisation for you to approve before we book in the on-site painting slot. The timescale of this process is dependent on the size and complexity of the design and diary bookings.

Fern Hollow - Ashleigh Mackenzie
I commissioned Rachel to come up with a mural for my 4 year old son's new bedroom. I knew the general feel and style I wanted but (being no artist) was limited in my description to words, and pictures I found that touched on what I was aiming for - the works of John Patience's Fern Hollow was my main inspiration. Working with Rachel was fantastic - she listened closely to my brief, and really engaged with my vision of how I wanted the mural to look - what impact and texture it would have. Rachel was intelligent and intuitive throughout that first design process and managed to get down on paper my imaginings. What I found particularly impressive was her attention to detail: e.g. were there particular riverside plants where we lived that I wanted to include on our mural riverside? Would I like the planets to stretch away in the correct scientific order from the sun sinking behind the hills in the village part of the murall?
When Rachel came to draw the mural it was tremendously exciting seeing it develop day by day. It took 2 weeks and each day my 4 year old would rush home after school to see what new detail had emerged.
Rachel is a talented artist, her focus and imaginative approach made the process exciting and stress free. I feel lucky to have found her and our mural is STUNNING. Thank you Rachel!
